Having just set up his summer basecamp in Ibiza and with a season ahead of as official Space resident, things really couldn't be any better for Edu Imbernon. With 'Niquel' still gathering huge support and his latest release 'Neim', alongside Triumph, having just been released on Suara, the timing could not be more perfect to drop his next smash. Spanish duo Los Suruba have impressed many with not only their own productions for the likes of Time Has Changed, Sincopat and Noir Music, but also for their a&r skills and dedication their own label family, Suruba.
'Punset' sees the trio in full-on-goosepimple-enducing mood. Each copy of the record should include the instructions - One to be taken, at sunset or sunrise for heightened effect. The boys have encapsulated the finest of balearic moods and brought them to the dancefloor once again. The deep throb of the progressive bassline, whilst allowing the track to breathe, has enough power to drive the track. The fluid sounds in the breaks, together with its simple piano riff and bell chimes, bring us down before the synth melody and weighty bass shoot us to the stratosphere on a wave of smiles...
On remix duty is none other than Hamburg's finest and Diynamic Music head honcho, Solomun. Turning 'Punset' on its head, yet maintaining its epic feel, the German producer strips it to the bone. The main synth riff is key here as every new element is added, bit by bit. Less is more in this case though as Solomun allows the mix to breath. Bass, key melody a touch of percussion, guitar lick and diva vocal drops all make for a sunshine smash of the highest order.
Eklektisch have done it again. Producing yet another uplifting summer smash hit. This will be rinsed by all, far and wide.
