Beginnings is the debut solo EP of half Thai, half Scottish Nu JazzLounge SingerSongwriter Jean Honeymoon. "In the years that I've been involved in song writing, it's always been as co-writer; whether it was as part of a band or in collaboration with other producers and recording artists. 'Beginnings' is the first EP that I've written on my own." Jean first met DJ and Producer Sean Dickson (Hifi Sean) in 1984 when she was in The Honeymooners and he was front man of chart hit band, The Soup Dragons. Thirty years after they first met, Sean approached Jean to ask if she would like to be part of a featured artists album of some of his favourite vocalists. Included in the collaborative project were Yoko Ono, Paris Grey (Inner City) and David McAlmont. "Crystal Waters, Bootsy Collins and Fred Schneider of the B-52's were already on board and the music for Monday Morning Sunshine was sublime - I said yes immediately". "When I began writing Beginnings; inspired by my move to the Western Isles, I knew that Sean Dickson, Brian 'Keys' Tharme, Club Des Belugas and Mara Zin - all talents I'd worked closely with before would breathe life into this EP - from the music and production to the colours of the cover art; a reflection of the blues of the Hebridean seas and skies of this island I now call home.
