Michael A leads a 2 track EP on Heath Mill Recordings with a moody production entitled 'Andromeda', a devilishly twisted production that slowly builds around a sultry rhythm of snares and shakers, before introducing a series of soft synth blips following the track's breakdown. Amidst its nuanced synth patterns and occasional vocal echoes is a twinkling bell pattern that adds another layer of complexity to an already impressive record.
'Temblor' caps rounds out the release and does so in proper fashion. A decidedly darker production in nature, Michael A loops a bevy of claps and shakers in the immediate background while toying with a heavy, reverbed synth pattern on the low end and a more anthemic, wavering synth pattern over the top. Adding everything from distant vocal echoes to the distinct ping of a wood block gives this production a dynamic edge over many productions of this style. The future is bright for Heath Mill and its roster, and somehow, we feel things are only just getting started for the US-based label.
