In 2012 Thrill Recordings presented a selection of diverse rhythmic EP's from fresh inspiring talents. This edition will be no different. Akuza's release can only be described as a musical pinata bursting with mind and body empowering dance tracks, under the core title, 'Age Of The Aquarius'. It inspired Tom Dazing and Dave Brody to make their own interpretation of the track, packed with deep, hypnotic and animated grooves. Both remixes hypnotize and seduce with elegant constructions and shifting modulations. Simplicity and finesse. Akuza sets the pace with a heavy kick, dictating its track with intervals of sequential rhythmic intensity. It starts progressing by collecting sounds of perfectly timed harmonies gently seeping through. The melodies in certain pieces come through the groove of the bouncy bass line, as well as a few other surprises and samples. Dave Brody keeps the rhythm and beat consistent. The gated outside layer of this track is laced with smooth surfaces and solid beats, underlined by a quirky, thick bass line. Suddenly the break begins to take full stream and the kicking and effective beats come into play at full force. It's poisonous cycles of highs and lows and ins and outs keep its dancers in a metric utopia. Despite the smoky, dubby intro, Tom Dazing's approach meshes perfectly with the rest of the release by keeping the deep and hypnotic groove grounded on the dance floor. It opens with softly pumping chords and filtered hi-hats cloaked in a faraway reverb creeping in from the corners, setting a dusky mood. The synthetic, analog syncopations of the 909 drums, its cottony claps and sneaky snares rapidly make a contemplative melody, pushing the energy forward....
