John Merki is young and already established DJ and producer from Southern California. Since 2007 he has quickly forged a fierce reputation as a DJ who destroys dance floors with is high energy, driving tech trance, pushing their audience to the limits. In recent years the Merki name has been edged in stone as part of the first generation of U.S. trance producers receiving international industry recognition for releases such as 'Second Chances' and 'Prismatic' by performers such as Paul Oakenfold, Activa, Paul Trainer and Paul Webster.Although actively involved in the club circuit since early 2000, John began to follow his DJ career serious in 2007. His reputation and unique tough sound allowed him to quickly rise through the DJ ranks With back to back brilliant and epic performances which crystallised with his first major event performance at Kandy Festival in 2008. His success at Kandy landed him the respect and following allowing him to secure Kosmic Festival in 2009 and Imagination in 2010. Since his debut at Kandy, John has been an event resident at these yearly festivals, supporting the biggest DJ names in the industry, such as Ronski Speed, Stoneface & Terminal, Airbase, Thomas Bronzwaer, Randy Boyer, Kristina Sky and Filo & Peri.With his DJ career in full swing by 2010, Merki hit the international stage with two internationally broadcasted radio shows; Trance Energy X, One Nation Live not including his own programmed broadcast 'John Merki's Undefeated' with collaborations with partner Kris Sweeton. His shows quickly build a regular following of listeners from all major dance continents allowing Merki by 2011 to suddenly expanded into the trance production circles through his signing with U.S. based label 'Solid Black Recordings', with his remix of 'Revelation, and later original releases of Second chances, Prismatic and Aleksandria with label Deepsink Digital. With consistent releases in 2011 and 2012, John's opportunity to work with other industry big guns was inevitable, which included Brian Flinn, Kaeno, and Denzo.By 2012 John Merki reputation had began to be noticed by other offshore labels; landing his first A&R Manager position with 'Critical State' an Australian based label part of the Komplex Sounds EDM label group. This association has opened new doors for Merki, securing his first international DJ tour 'Life Beyond' beginning in late 2012, supporting acts industry giants Mark Sherry, Kaeno and 7 Skies.
