Acclaimed Amsterdam techno DJ / producer Joran van Pol is stepping out with his
own brand new label. He marks the first release with a brilliant brace of his own cuts plus an on point remix from Italian producer Luigi Madonna.
The label will follow this same MO-originals from van Pol and a guest remix- with each new release and comes after van Pol has already made a name for himself with searing techno productions on labels like Minus, Rejected, Sci+Tec and Ideal Audio.
The Dutch DJ/producer first burst through with big support from tastemakers like
Riche Hawtin and Dubfire and tracks like 'Sonic Highway' have seen him work with
legend & fellow countryman Joris Voorn. Now having played all over the world from ENTER at Space Ibiza to TimeWarp festival, he is well armed with plenty of ideas and some surefire skills that will help him shake up the global techno scene.
This excellent EP kicks off with 'Verge,' a rib rattling techno track designed to fill full warehouses with sound. It is an industrial tinged effort with plenty of drama and tension in its creeping synths and rolling drums, and exactly typifies van Pol's
singular aesthetic.
In the hands of Luigi Madonna, a Drumcode and Plus 8 veteran who rolls out big
hitters on a regular basis, the track is imbued with some emotive vocal cries and
bulkier drums. Big hi hat ringlets add scale and the whole thing is truly fiery and
attention grabbing. Rounding out a fantastic EP is 'Reduce', a more stripped back and creepy techno tune full of dark and absorbing atmosphere, unsettling synth undercurrents and brooding, body shaking drums. It really is one that will grab the attention of the 'floor. This is a strong start to what is sure to be an essential new label.
