Beat Assassins are back after having a 4 year break. Jimmy Mofo aka Beat Assassins has decided to re launch the project on a mission to create cheeky, quirky, yet powerful, bouncy drum n bass tracks for the clubs and ipods. The first Beat Assassins release of the year is The Raid, a 2 step roller that blurs the lines between jungle and drum n bass. The Raid is a nod to the hedonistic days of the early 90's rave scene. The track features a real live recordings of the police busting an illegal party alongside jungle basslines and old skool leads packaged in a modern production. The first remix is delivered from a veteran of the drum n bass scene, DJ Callide. His remix takes the proceedings in a tougher direction as Jump up filth is the order of the day. The hoover stabs ride the dirtiest basslines. Check out the mid breakdown that gives way to an old skool, hardcore, jungle blast before the filth returns. This remix will delight those DJs looking for a riotous drum n bass banger. The second remix comes in from one of Toolroom's classic house producers, JAY C. He delivers his trademark thumping 4/4 mix all over The Raid but still tips his hat towards the rave era. As the remix gradually builds an old skool stab rides the house rhythms before the police bust returns. After the mid breakdown a contemporary electro lead is the main driving force of the track.
