DSM has long sung the praises of the baby faced assassin Anile, firmly believing him to be one of, if not the finest, new producer in drum & bass at the moment. Much like Never Together on the first Intelligent Systems EP, which was a refreshingly chilled and laid back affair compared to the heavier efforts he is most well known for, Sorn sees him switch up styles somewhat and come with a dubbed out , reggae tinged track definitely one for the late nights/early morning.
Kharms Hiding Place is an underground classic having featured in Loxys popular CX Podcast, and whilst its synth line is reminiscent of some Instra:Mentals work, this tracks packs a bit more of an emotional punch. The airy pads and forlorn sounding vocal combine to create a truly beautiful slice of minimal d&b.
Fresh from delivering the sublime Six Degrees of Separation EP for DSMdigi002, Sam KDC returns with this scatty synth led track. Sam is almost entirely influenced by music outside of drum & bass and his passion for more abstract IDM and electronica is clear in this piece.
The EP is completed by Metallic Rain by newcomers Synth Sense. This exciting new duo from Kent are making some truly innovative music and this is just a taste of things to come with the 4th DSM Digital release confirmed as being The After Dark EP from them.
