Electric Soulside are two Belgian brothers Patrick Hoody & Steve Hoody. Their ultimate goal is to pack the dance floors with a mix of breaks, electro and their personal touch. Steve keeps his main influences from the early part of the 1990's and particularly likes the pure dance floor classics. In 1994 he bought his first turntables and spent his time searching music stores where he finished by getting a job selecting the novelties for new distributors.During this period Patrick was interested in the creation of music and in 1995 bought his first Rhythm Box and an old Analogue Synthesizer. After various associations with other artists in Electronica and hip hop Patrick decided to give his passion 100% and invested every last penny of his savings in new equipment. He worked in a theatre where he was responsible for dealing with the sound engineering for the concerts for various famous groups, national and international artists. During the late 90's Steve has many ideas in mind and decides to materialize by joining Patrick behind the synthesizer. They founded the group 'Mantra & Galax-Sea' and created their own concept of evening 'Futuropolis' and they carried out live-acts and played alongside famous artists of their country. During this period there music was of the House genre influenced by artists such as DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Olav Basosky and Paul Johnson, which were all productions on the label IHR Chicago.Following excellent feedback by Scot Gendelman (a & r label IHR) and John Aquaviva, they decided to make their own white label productions to add sparkle and originalty to their DJ sets and radio appearances. In 2001 they were spotted by Dylan Rhymes, which offered them to sign on the label 'Blue Black records' that were London-based artists known as Meat Katie and Elite Force. They have several singles under the name 'Hoody & Hoody' and 'Ultravision' including the title 'inner earth' found on the compilation 'Shine' by Max Graham on System recordings. Profoundly influenced by Breakbeat, which they discovered thanks to Dylan Rhymes and Meat Katie, Patrick and Steve apply themselves 100% to a style that was almost non-existent in their home country Belgium. At the beginning of 2006 Electric Soulside was born. Recruited thereafter by Rob Reng on his label "Ruff Dog Recordings," they sign the track 'Shining' which receives the support of artists from the four corners of the breakbeat / electronica scene such as The Crystal Method, Aquasky and many more. Patrick and Steve enforce their production qualities on different breaks/electro-breaks labels such as, European Breakbots in Paris, Flatout in Stockholm, VIM Greece and Ruff dog in London. They also bring to reality various projects including the track 'Second Life' released early 2008, which received excellent reviews in the electro-breaks scene as No. 1 in the top 100 breakbeat downloads. Currently Patrick and Steve passionate to combine various styles with influences and their own personal identity will give their own productions what is now the interest of many labels. These labels are regularly found in the heads of the charts such as Bugeyed Records Torronto, Erase Records London and the excellent label Potty Mouth Music in Chicago.
