DEAD CERT. Records is a label linked to the well known website deathtechno.com ran by Jack! Who? in the UK. A diverse palette has seen the previous releases feature music from artists including Audio Injection / Truncate, Paul Mac, Joachim Spieth, Miss Sunshine, DJ Spider and Eomac to name but a few.
Javier Caballero aka Audiolux is an exciting producer based in Barcelona, with an already well received release on Marla Singer's Lunar Project amongst others. Expanding his arsenal, he delivers a powerful and club ready EP called 'Education' and his debut on DEAD CERT.
The stunning remix comes from duo TWR72 based in Amsterdam. Tom & Roger head up Float Records that's featured artists such as Samuli Kemppi, Markus Suckut, Developer, Tensal, Kwartz, Endlec and many more, being a firm fixture in the Dutch capital's scene. Their own back catalogue includes releases for the highly respected Planet Rhythm, Tiga's Turbo Recordings, remixes for Mark Broom and Secluded aka Hans Bouffmyhre, and collaborating with Truncate on the Sound Pellegrino imprint.
The lead original track "Knowledge" has a breezy intro sharply followed by sputtering hats that build tension almost instantly. A fierce and pulsing main sound, with the addition of a soaring high pitched synth, create a melancholic feel and the heavy groove locked in the bottom end from the warm kick and rolling toms keep it moving. Only coming up for air once, this powerful and edgy track will be certain to do damage on the dancefloor.
"Values" is the second track that begins with a moody, pounding kick, always pushing forward with an electric energy. Utilising the build up, the tough beat soon opens out as the lurking hook becomes more prominent and defined. Driving and hypnotic, it's another straight up DJ tool ready for action.
Track three is the TWR72 remix, bringing an interesting and quirky edge to the strong original. Using a completely new melody under a swarming and broody, distorted bass, this rework is a real monster with a killer dynamic.
The final track titled "Beliefs" focuses on a deep and hypnotic aesthetic with a certain spaced out and organic feel. A multitude of layers and textures really draw your attention and stitch together an atmosphere ready for warm up or peak time duties.
