For the past 18 years Josh Switchbass has dedicated his life to electronic music,
first as a rave-enthusiast in the booming 90's rave scene in Toronto, Ontario,then onto promoting and hosting events,
always having a vision in place to one day joining the ranks of the DJs he idolized,while working to share his music with the world.
Having been an avid Drum & Bass fan most of his life, it was with this genre Josh began his Journey, throwing events in his hometown of Guelph.
He brought events to the city with names such as Benny Page & Marcus Visionary, Dj Sw@t, NC-17, Hydee, Stick Bubly & many many more.
It was around the late 90's where he first discovered Techno,
attending the legendary Comfort Zone in Toronto regularly as well as going to see scene heavy weights such as Richie Hawtin,
John Aquaviva, Deko-ze, Jelo & more, while a growing passion lay secretly in wait.
While one day hitting a creative milestone fuelled by this emerging fascination, he decided to turn to techno and the rest is history.
The fit just came naturally for him and he opening for acts like Donald Glaude & French Techno sensation Oxia
and holding down various residencies performing alongside some of the pioneers and music legends in the Canadian electronic music scene.
Now taking his music production to never-before-seen heights, his first EP of 2012 saw immediate support from the likes of Dubfire, Terry Mullan, Deko-ze, Mikey Terra, DJ Denise, Carey Cowart & more.
In 2013, he formed the Canadian Raver Alliance Network a group on Facebook which now holds nearly 4000 active members, a place for anyone to share anything related to dance music culture. Currently signed onto various labels,
including Tony Diamond (a.k.a Incredible Melting Man) Gold n Tech Records, there is no stopping him in the studio, already amassing an arsenal of original material to unleash at venues, rave,
and festival events for 2014 while holding down various residencies at venues such as Andy Poolhall and playing many gigs with Lori Ward (hi fi princess) and the Flavorite music Label.
His sound is best described as an exploration of solid Techno, without borders or limits, simple as that. Armed to the teeth with anthem after anthem of Big Room-Techno, as well as being a master of turntables, CDJs, and gadgets,
his drive is unstoppable when it comes to producing techno marvels.
