Fresh from an outstanding contribution to Jacques Renault & Marcos Cabralʼs On The Prowl imprint Italian producer Giorgio turns in ʻThere Was a Grooveʼ EP for Belfast-based Seven Music.

Featuring remixes from Yore artist Orlando B and Seven Music mainstays Scope & Sydney
Young ʻThere Was A Grooveʼ is a 5 track EP that celebrates classic deep house aesthetics.

From the walking bass and continually filtered riffs of ʻOne More Timeʼ to the skeletal emotion of ʻThe Piano Overdubʼ, ʻThere Was a Grooveʼ is a melodic affair that uses every element to itʼs fullest.

The remixes arenʼt to be overlooked, either. Orlando Bʼs version of ʻOne More Timeʼ, much like his recent work for Andy Vazʼs album remixes, is a stirring number that frees the originals riffs of their warm, resonant filtering and letʼs them punch through the mix alongside rich strings and uncomplicated drum machine work.

While the beauty of ʻThe Piano Overdubʼ squeezes every ounce out of drums, piano and strings, Scope & Sydney Young create a stuttering, synth bass led interpretation that adds lots but takes nothing away from the quality.

ʻHoldʼ closes the EP with a light, chord led vibe that provides an airy flourish to proceedings.

ʻThere Was a Grooveʼ by Giorgio Luceri is released on Seven Music mid-December.
