Mahony & BOg's 'Midnight Games EP' drops exclusively in stores around the halloween period with everything about this EP on the supernatural tip, from the menacing synth sounds to the late-night grooves.

Romanians Mahony & BOg are part of a musical project started a few years ago. Mahony is the resident of one of the most influential projects on the Romanian coastline, Kudos Beach, while BOg is a seasoned producer with many years under his belt. The pair's first EP named 'Literalmente' was released by Belin based label Fumakilla, home to artists such as Livio & Roby and Paul Ritch. With follow up productions like 'No Smoking Orchestra' reaching the Beatport top 20 and tracks signed to NTFO's label 'Sintope Digital', the pairs success is evident of hard work and forward thinking music.

The EP heads-up with title track 'Midnight Games', an exceptionally upbeat slice of modern deep house with a twist, bouncy but with dark undertones and an infectious bass rhythm.

Next up is 'Triphaze' featuring none other than Fosky, a Buenos Aires born and raised producer who got the attention of Damian Lazarus with his first single 'Shiva' released on Crosstown Rebels which gained support from every DJ under the sun at some point last year. The teaming with Mahony & BOg to create 'Triphaze' has led to an outcome of one of the most atmospheric tracks we've heard in a while. It's moody, eerie, and uses ominous synth and pad sounds to give the listener the feeling they've step inside an episode of 'Tales From the Crypt'... spooky stuff! Fosky has recently teamed up with fellow South American Guti for the 'Step EP' a follow-up release on Crosstown Rebels and with releases forthcoming on Steve Lawler 's Viva music and Carl Cox's Intec we feel honored to have him onboard 'Love Not Money'.

On the flip side is 'Sins', following in the footsteps of 'Triphaze' while at the same time, deepening the groove and lyrical content of its predecessor. A canopy of etherealized synths and vocals float above a libidinous bassline with added slices of steel drums that give the track a kind of tropical moodiness. A real builder of a track that rounds off the EP nicely.

On remix duties we've drafted in rising talent 'Him_Self_Her', the male/female production duo who've recently taken the Beatport charts by storm, catapulting them to the forefront of the electronic music scene with the success of their monster hit 'Gone Too Long' which hit the No.1 spot in the Indie Dance / Nu-Disco chart. They've given 'Midnight Games' their touch, keeping the main elements of the track inline and brought a fresh approach to the bass. With forthcoming releases on Circle Music, Dialtone, Planet Acetate and Chris James & Bubba's Runnin' Wild label things are looking good for the duo... keep your ears to the ground.
