Air Max '97 breaks ground on his brand new label DECISIONS with two darkly functional dance floor cuts. A side 'Core Work' is an oblique polyrhythmic affair aimed to enrapture the body and mind. A nearly 4/4 kick pulses under viscous bell loops and bursts of syncopated clicks and crashes. The result is playful and bewitching, drawing the listener/dancer through a series of cascading, shifting grooves. B side 'Expenditure' is a low-slung extra terrestrial machine. Described by Ben UFO as 'seriously twisted', the track sets keenly textured bass in elliptical orbit around arpeggiated melodies and sharply honed percussion. Selected DJ Feedback: Ben UFO: "Seriously twisted" Teki Latex: "This is great - Core Work is a dope exercise in tribal abstraction. Expenditure just bangs and needs a video with futuristic glass elevator doors closing and opening." Taskforce: "Both are certifiable bangers. Definitely will play these" M.E.S.H.: "This is great, I've been wanting to play out loopier and extended takes on this sound but the tracks are few and far between." Dro Carey / Tuff Sherm: "I'm really into them both. Such nice sound design and mixdowns - big release!" Plastician: "Great stuff! Core Work is absolutely crazy" DJ Orgasmic: "Both tracks are fire, rhythm patterns are sick on Core Work, experimental. I like Expenditure a lot too will play this one for sure, perfect that it is 120bpm." Bill Kouligas (PAN): "Sounds great! I'll definitely play the second tune out" Rushmore: "Expenditure is SICK!" Tzusing: "Dropped it tonight. Was so good! It's going to be huge" Glacial Sound: "Release is sick, really like Expenditure, definitely one I'll be playing" DJ Abby: "Oh my god this shit slappppppsssssss !" BD1982: "I'm loving both of these! Core Work has got a crazy heads down vibe & the polyrhythmic vortex of Expenditure is killer. Will be supporting on our radio show and out for sure."
