On our return with CR018 we introduce JEPE with his first Chocolat Records EP. With a lush and atmospheric theme, JEPE offers us a 3 track EP with two edits of Emotional Rescue and feature track Walls.
Commencing the line up JEPE gives us the feature track, Walls. A relaxed build up with an electronic arpeggiator, which in-tenses as the percussion builds. Strings hold everything together while the arpeggiator journeys into is self made melodies. A sense of wonder is created with this arrangement as deep lying instruments add to it's charm.
Following the feature, we have are welcomed by Emotional Rescue. Strong kick drum and minimal percussion start us off, bringing us to a holding baseline and bell melodies played on a higher octave. As we progressive in time we progress in arrangement. A moving arp and stronger percussion leads us into lush brass leads which in turn breaks to it's peak. A joyful and thoughtful piece which induces feelings of nostalgia.
For the final offering of the EP, JEPE gives us the Breeze edit of Emotional Rescue, which we never knew we needed. A stripped down version of the original takes us on a journey of beautiful melodies and effortless combinations. Strings, melodies and toned down percussion makes a perfect combination for an opener or mid set break.
