Continuing their rich vein of from, BIBLIOTHEQUE RECORDS return with their 8th release so far, a beautifully constructed wonky and off-beat house stroll from the label's head honcho, Sebjak and his fellow Swede, Taped. "To Have And To Hold" is a highly distinctive, slowly evolving track that combines subtle melodies with muscly, underground grooves to devastating effect. Slippery, fluid and genre defying until the last, this is another example of BIBLIOTHEQUE's forward-thinking attitude towards club culture. The atmosphere is stripped back and tense as the track gets underway. Potent 4/4s, grumbling bass and whirring FX soon join in to create a soundscape that is watchful yet purposeful at the same time. Crunching synth lines swoosh in over the top as momentum starts to build, gradually flowing into some deep, rolling basslines that surge the entire track forward. That low, powerful bass is juxtaposed to delicate bells and light melodies that jangle with quiet importance in the breakdown, but the pair expertly weave the power and drive back into the mix to take us to the intoxicating finishing point.
