Having steadily gained a loyal following with a slew of dancefloor bubbling singles, a highly rated "Coldriver Music" mixtape and appearances at festivals such as Outlook and Love Saves The Day, Puerto Rican born/Italian XL Mad finally steps out with a debut album. Modelled more as a mixtape, this collection of tracks shows a deeper and darker side of the young artist on the rise. Produced with his Kalymatic Sound cohorts and a selection of hand picked guests on the boards, "Badman Chronicles" traverses dancehall, trap, drill and dubstep styles with ease. Engulfed in delphic codes and underlying metaphors, the mixtape is deeply layered - from the introspective titile track to Top Shottaz and Real Hustlers. Of course there are dancefloor bombs too - the huge single "When We Drop It" already getting action in the clubs and the massive "Bad Mi Bad" with UK veteran MC Gappy Ranks also doing damage.
With a follow up album already in the can, plus some big features you can expect to hear a lot more from XL Mad - an artist truly putting his own fresh, modern and unique stamp on dancehall.
