Sweden's Ingemar Stalholm makes a return to the Archipel family after his excellent album "Mental Garden Still Life", this time with his "Anti Techno EP", on Kalimari's digital series. As the title suggests, Ingemar presents a batch of sonic sculpture which challenges the traditional ideas of techno. He accomplishes this very well with the use of highly intricate sound design and irresistible rhythmic structuring which views techno's well known 4/4 infrastructure from a very welcome and novel perspective. Ingemar incorporates subtle melodic weavings into his anti-techno which form brilliant, yet subtle, shifting multi-hued clouds of flickering aural plasma which meander through his asymmetric rhythmic matrices. One is reminded of the detailedness of Autechre's work viewed through the lens of techno from another world. Sven Laux and Strukturator join the anti-techno sect both injecting Ingemar's originals through their unique and attractively dub tinted lenses.
