M.A.D (Mutual Assured Distortion) are three young guys from Rubi, a peripheral town from Barcelona. They joined to create smart and soulful club music made with hardware which aim is to be danced at the band's live shows (definitely their strong point).
After many years in their different post-rock, shoegaze and indie bands, M.A.D decided to join the electronic music cave. After releasing their first EP on Pyrafunk (a more indie-touch release) they're no releasing This & These, 3 original tracks and remixes from the spanish idol Clip and the charismatic ambiented house master Octo Octa (100%% Silk, USA).
This & These brings a huge dose of elegant and cerebral house created during the first two quarters of 2015. Clean and smashing sounds made with machines and instruments (Guitars, saxo…) is what you're gonna find on "This is X", "Mind" and "Big City". Tha bass, claps and vocals on "This is X", catchy, dark and evolving but lightful at the same time, the hyper-reverbed guitars, the leads and pads on "Mind" and the sweaty club night feeling on "Big City" make from This & These a really good way to introduce M.A.D to the electronic music circuit.
National techno Kaiser Clip (FINA, Feline -Suara-, Classicworks, Struments, RBMA...) contributes on this EP with a deepest point of view of "This is X". A walk through the dancefloor made with his Tempest and other lovely "toys". Octo Octa (100%% Silk, Argot, Stay Underground it Pays…) made a remix starting with some ambiented sounds for a track which evolves transforming the first track of the EP in a phantastic lightful trip full of smiles and closed eyes as hand lugage.
