Integrity Records celebrates its 1st anniversary with a special release of 'Absolute', the single that first brought label head and producer, Eddie Niguel, international recognition from what many industry peers consider to be one of the most infectious crossover single that year. Originally released on 'Midnight Shift' Records five years ago as a split 12" Vinyl EP alongside Toronto-based Basic Soul Unit, 'Absolute' will be re-released on Integrity with a special remix from Club Cheval member Victor Watel aka Panteros666. Accompanying the remix is a new interpretation of the original cover art by its designer and illustrator, Fiona Luigi.
An underground earworm that hit the summer of 2012, 'Absolute' was featured on both KiNK's and Disclosure's 'Essential Mix', as well as Heidi's Residency Show on BBC Radio 1, London. A huge favourite at club venues worldwide, 'Absolute' was played and supported by some of the world's most celebrated artistes such as Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Sasha, Dixon, Lee Foss, DJ Hell, Pan-Pot and Dusky; including Basement Jaxx who blended up their own 'Unicorn' acapella over the track for their exclusive mixes. 'Absolute' was also playlisted at major international festivals such as 'Radio 1 Weekend' in Ushuaia, Ibiza, 'Wavefront' in Chicago, 'Dimension' in Croatia, 'Cream' in Liverpool and 'Timewarp' in Amsterdam, amongst others.
A huge fan of the track, Panteros made 'Absolute' a staple in his DJ sets for the next couple of years. His love of the track and his desire to put his own spin on it pushed him to get in touch with Niguel. After a brief chat and a few weeks later, Panteros turned in a seminal remix - that of a Belgian rave-inspired club trax straight from the Noughties. Making sure to keep the soul of 'Absolute' intact, Panteros liberates the track with vocal chops, slammin' drums, well-executed builds and drops, turning it into a bangin' anthemic piece perfect for festivals or big room sets.
