pyxis makes a welcome return to the fat with two cuts demonstrating her trademark 'light and dark' style.
'Moonshadow' opens with skippy breaks and lovely wonky keys that conjure the sound of an old record. Soulful vocals carry you through before a funky bass drops setting the groove. pyxis deftly weaves her magic sounds in and out of the track with a little extra added stardust along the way. Interstellar!
'Opium' finds pyxis in much of the same artistic space. The vocal sample speaks of being 'here when you need somebody' but this soundscape is not entirely happy, in fact it's kind of sad. The mid section provides momentary catharsis before some dark synth lines bring us sharply back. The track title definitely adds depth to the narrative. Intoxicating!
