Another release in the pipeline from Dark Manoeuvres is to be part two of the Infra Audientia compilation series that has been introducing modern, intelligent drum and bass from a number of cherry picked innovative artists. Part two showcases tracks from Native, Ower, Dser and Beaton ranging from chilled and jazz-tinged to dark and menacing.
The first track, Gone, from Derby-born, London-based Native is a chilled, slightly mournful number with an evocative pared down piano sample and gorgeous pitched-down vocals to raise the hairs on the back of your neck. Ower keeps things light and breezy, offering up a jazzy, end of the night track perfect for winding down to and gathering yourself after some heavy partying. Another Day benefits from its light snare-based drum beat and minimal bass line making this a very soothing listen.
Not enough MC vocals for you so far? Dser's Death Valley features a few choice bars over a Star Wars-esque brass section sample. Energy levels rise for this third track of Infra Audientia II which demonstrates Dser's prowess as one of the key players in Geneva's rapidly expanding D&B scene.
Finally, we have another track from the fantastic, cinematic Beaton. A dark, menacing track with a broody, snaking bass line and sci fi sound effects, it's also peppered with those classic "warning" message samples that have become a staple in so much drum and bass but will put a smile on the faces of most fans.
This four track EP in the Infra Audientia series is another sampler of what great, innovative drum and bass Dark Manoeuvres has in store. Keep listening for more experimental and current sounds. Available online from 15th December.
