Josiah De Disciple

Josiah Makoela, popularly known as Josiah De Disciple hails from the township of Alexandra in South Africa. A former member of the pioneering Amapiano duo JazziDisciples has become one of the genre's most revered producers by fusing Amapiano with unexpected sounds drawn from Jazz, Deep House, Afro Pop and Soul. Following the split of JazziDisciples, his 2021 release 'Spirit of Makoela Vol 2: The Re-Introduction' pushed the sonic envelope by incorporating live instrumentation into the normally synth-heavy genre. Josiah has since released multiple hits that continue to shape the evolution of Amapiano today. In 2022, he plans to release his 3rd instalment of the SOM (Spirits of Makoela) album.
