Like a pair of white-haired septuagenarian retirees on HBO's 'Real Sex', Peppelino & Steel Grooves engaged in a bit of soft swapping on the first SCRemix EP(SC10). Excited & a little nervous, they traded their biggest Sonic Convergence tunes and proceeded to grunt & sweat all over them, producing some oily, funky, crusty goodness for the rest of the world to enjoy while they try to forget the scene I just described. Steel Grooves' remix of Peppelino's best-selling "Bad Girls" is a funky, throbbing take on one of my personal favorites from the label, dropping the speed down a notch in favor of a head-bobbing heavy groove. Peppelino's remix of Steel Grooves' "Let's Jack" takes an anthem techno tune from the big room into the basement, blanketing the room of sweaty, dirty dancers with a thick layer of dark basslines. For the bonus tra ck, our SCRemix contest winner Domagoj Radas unveils his tribal remix of Wyrus' "Say What", a loopy tune with pleasing, well-crafted bass. Support from Alexey Kotlyar, Audio Mekanic, Bitch Bros, Cristian Varela, David Moleon, DJ MICHA, DJ Thomas Will, Du'Art, G8, Gamut, Gemma Furbank, Johan Nilsson, Kazuumi Ishii, Mr Phil, Niko Vitano, Norman Quarill Andretti, Patrick DSP, Stanny Franssen, Steel Grooves, Tim C Corrupted Data, Wyrus and many more!
