Five Beats For XYZ is a work where everything is based on the sacred number five, which in turn is the sum of the digits of the sacred number twenty-three. Five beats of pure analog sounding percussive and sarcastic music specially prepared for the three generations of humans that will probably be the only ones to ever listen to it, plus hyenas and roadrunners. Dear Mr. DJ: yes, you can use this to if you want to bring the joy of the Golden Apple of Eris into your party. Satisfaction guaranteed. Warning: disorderly conduct may unravel amongst participants. Comes complete with dancing vinyl space girl cover. Fnord!!

Cooptrol, a.k.a. Hernan Gonzalez (Johannesburg, 1976) is an electronic music artist that resides in Montevideo, Uruguay. After some years of death metal drumming, Gonzalez started experimenting with computer music in 1995. Cooptrol started in 2000 first as a dub-techno and dub project. Then, in the mid 00's it's style turned toward post-industrial and experimental electronic music. The following years Cooptrol played in South American countries like Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and in Europe in Germany, Spain and Switzerland, and made digital releases of experimental and dub music in different labels, a period that ended in 2011 with the release of his first vinyl in Swiss imprint Spezialmaterial, a collaboration with McNongenetic of Shadowhuntaz fame. From then on Cooptrol became acquainted with four-on-the-floor dance music and started producing dub-techno and house again. Still, experimental music kept being released, for which he founded the label Tiredbeat in 2012. Today's Cooptrol sound is a mix of many different influences of the more avant-garde music with the standards of electronic music's most consumed genres.
