After causing quite a stir with its first EP, the Inermu label now pops up with a second scintillating release, this time from Two Diggers featuring label boss James Dexter.
Two Diggers hail from France and is made up of a pair of vinyl loving DJs and producers who made a big impact with their first release on the influential Dijebali label in 2015. Their house style is deep and organic and pleasingly authentic, as this EP proves.
Standout opener 'Fatback' is a perfectly free flowing, loose and expertly atmospheric house cut with bobbling drums and jazzy hi hats. Shooting synths, muffled vocals and rich bass all make you want to get up and move and so this one is sure to get any party started.
The more subdued and seductive 'Queen' is a steamy cut with Moodymann styled vibes pervading a deep groove. The pads are humid, the drums soft edged and the spoken word samples expertly culled from all manner of sources. It is a tough one to date because it is so immediately classic yet timeless, and is sure to turn many heads as a result.
Finally, the brilliantly busy, restless 'To The Blues' has a deep house groove peppered with keys and flailing perc'. It never sits still, burrows endlessly deeper and takes you with it every step of the way.
This label has already picked up plays from the likes of Pokerflat boss Steve Bug and now with Two Diggers at the helm is only sure to continue its ascent.
