Release reviews:
"Collapsing System is an absolute gargantuan release. The digital version comes with three new tracks by Stormfield - the acidic broken beat stylings of Rebuild and title track Collapsing System and the groove laden Sea Ice- and three remixes courtesy of Ireland's own Defekt, Nonima and Errorbeauty. Each remix takes the tunes in their own direction. Defekt, fresh from his Electronic Explorations mix, proves why he's building so much momentum at the moment, with Rebuild's bass line making way for some superb old school electro beats and clicks. Skirmish favourite Nonima puts his slant on Collapsing System with some technical broken beat techno. Errorbeauty turns Collapsing System from a slow acid tune to all out war, with a mammoth bassline spiraling over jagged rhythms Closing track, the aforementioned Sea Ice, takes it back down a notch with some lovely slow bass driven techno. Definitely one of my favorite releases of the year and another great edition to the Combat Recordings catalog." - Skirmish Blog
"There are three new tunes in the package and each one comes dripping in acid with the title track taking an eerie ambient approach while "Rebuild" nudges up the BPMs and delivers a monstrous ten minute 303 workout before "Sea Ice" calms proceedings a little and almost acts as a bridge between the other two. There's a crunchy analogue feel to the tracks and they should find favour with those who like their techno with an extra sprinkling of dirt." - Phuturelabs
"Collapsing System (Nonima remix) when I listen to this I have images of wearing night vision goggles witnessing a barrage of air strikes, missiles and gun fire going off all to the sounds of Brian Eno in a sparse desert setting, its mesmerising, beautiful, poignant yet brutal. Rebuild (DeFeKt remix) - Slightly biased to any production of DeFeKt, for me he is making the most interesting electro of a generation, those looping basslines give me goose-bumps ! Rebuild (original) pure uncompromising acid darkness from Stormfield, "acid sci fi 2048" Collapsing System (Errorbeauty remix) Relentless beats and acid, bleeps and monstrous dance appeal.. If I was DJ'g in a club I'd choose this of the 4 tracks, the crowd would go mental ...; reminds me of Zion in Matrix" - Rob Booth, Electronic Explorations
