Haiku575 is the newest musical sensation to come out from the bustling Barcelona scene. Based in this city but influenced by the whole world and its colours and stories, the duo is composed by M_Abbatangelo (label manager and co-owner with Davide Squillace of This And That Lab) and Cipy (a veteran producer and long-time member of the Get Physical and Kindisch family), who after more than a decade of friendship have decided to go into the studio together to pursue a common musical vision: tracks that compose a poem, and a sound that veers off onto the minimal side of the spectrum while maintaining a deep, melodic groove and a penchant for harmonies. In this EP for Aloe Musique, the guys offer up 2 great compositions showing their studio skills on top from, a true representation of their sophisticated style. After The Sounds Of Water is built around a swinging fat bass line, with organ stabs and groovy percussion patterns introducing a gentle pad melody and loopy vocals, a nice retro feeling that defines time and trends. The Wind Start To Blow is chock-full of sinister atmospheres and trippy clicks, while a wall of metallic noises rounds off the entire piece.
