PLUS017 features the talented duo of Llieno & Steve Cox all the way from NYC. Together they have captured that New York sound of organic and tough beats and have combined it with modern production techniques to create the fun "The Real EP" that will keep you moving until the sun comes up. Opening the EP is "Got Love (Need Money)". With a tough and chunky groove off the bat, Llieno & Steve Cox know how to build anticipation with a simple yet infectious groove and clever uses of atmospheric synths to get you primed for whats to come. The baseline is big, round and bouncy and just hums throughout creating a nice bed to an established chunky groove. As the track moves along some smooth male vocals make their presence known, chanting along, locking you into the hypnotic groove the duo has created. From there they let the track and groove ride out with tastefully added clap accents to to compliment the energy and power "Got Love (Need Money)" has established. Llieno & Steve Cox keep the theme going with the big, mean drums on "RAW DOGG". Off the bat they have a deep, pumping sub bassline throbbing away, insisting you make your way to the dancefloor. The duo isnt pulling any punches on this one as they build it up subtly with a creative, but light touch of effects and atmospheric sounds, to the main organ line, harkening back to those classic Chicago records of years gone by. As the vocals hook you in and and a snare groove that pushes you, "RAW DOGG" is unapologetic in its simple yet effective approach to pleasing the dance floor. On Remix duties we have Raul Garcia & Martin Zambrano. Bringing a touch of South American flair, their "Wrap It Up" Remix for "RAW DOGG" is a lesson in efficiency and creativity. Rebuilding the track in their own image, the stripped down groove establishes a sense of dread and uneasiness, a mood that is only intensified with their use of the vocals and a completely original haunting synth lines that punctuates the tracks frightening mood that is perfect those dark after-hours we all relish in and look forward to. Finishing off the EP is ++ very own man behind the scenes. Almost as way to balance out Raul Garcia & Martin Zambranos remix, Jason Bays signature Late Night Affair Remix creates a melancholy atmosphere with moments of joy sprinkled in for his take on "Got Love (Need Money)". Starting off with a straightforward organic groove, the track doesnt really take shape until the emotional keys come in, with the pads only intensifying the mood. The groove continues on with the keys and pads melding into one while the vocals chant underneath. Half way through the strings come in almost as a beacon of hope, showing that there is still joy out there for all of us, until the keys come in once again before the track drops down to just the vocals and minimal drums before returning to the main groove to finish out the journey.
