Funkedge kicks off 2013 with a proper 4-track taste of things to come. Moving throughout house to progressive, these big room club grooves are a dubby tease of what the year will bring.

Kicking things off is "Google Translate", the product of an international 3-way collab. Spain's Sergio Navarro was in DC for a weekend playing a gig with Dave Cortex, and the next day they jumped in the studio. The only problem with that neither of the two were very fluent in each other's language. So the track earned it's namesake by being the primary method of communication throughout the entire session. After that translated into a banging groove, Josh Harnois walked in and played what may be the most epic instrumental breakdown ever.

Hailing from St. Petersburg Russia, Madvim's warm rhythm and classic house influences are a perfect fit for the Funkedge vibe. "Duo" is a proper label debut with a heavy funk bass and deep vibes.

5ketchy 5hirt lurks in the dark corners of DC's rave scene, usually wearing sketchy clothes and acting even sketchier. One night he was bored and made "Creepin" instead.

Finishing things up is "Calamari" by Essence of Moisture, a trippy progressive groove topped off by a seriously dank melody. Enjoy.
