Delft returns for its latest Split EP, the label's first since the entry by Matrixxman and LA-4A for the label's 4th release in 2014. This entry pairs label head LA-4A aka Kevin McHugh with crew member Alden Tyrell - with whom McHugh has just issued a collaborative EP on Cocoon under his Ambivalent alias - for a rough and raw acid and electro derby.
The contributions by Alden Tyrell come in the form of two versions of Say Wut - a rolling Chicago acid line redolent of Armando, paired with a jacking 808 beat and followed by a version with a pounding 909. These complementary versions harness the power of Tyrell's 303 work, giving any who wield them a versatile pair of tools for discerning dance floors.
The LA side comprises two new LA-4A tracks. Unfaced boasts a growling staccato 101 bassline with overdriven electro beats cut into the barking enough to add a punching groove. Rounding out the pack is Prollum, itself a distorted marching drum tool interrupted by squelching twisting acid and an alert that needs your attention.
