Here comes a new release from the Pécs-based but also Budapest-focused BETWIXT electronic music workshop. Previously marion was featured on the Collect All And Save remix album and on YELLOW compilation. The 5th issue of the BETWIXT label is titled 'Alteration' and presents 3 tracks from marion.
The title 'Alteration' refers to recent internal struggles and shifts and this can be heard echoing in the first track 'Alphabet'. The gloomy sonority slowly transforms into a dreamy harmony with finely measured synths and sophisticated drumgroove.
The track called 'Unit' aims at the dancefloors, no less. Immaculate, catchy melodies and exciting percs dictate the tempo, resulting in a hit suitable for peak-time house sets.
The 15 minutes long 'Alteration' concludes with 'Void'. The contemplative frame of mind remains but the drums hit softer here than in the cases of 'Unit' or 'Alphabet'.
The following people assisted in the realization of the release: Roland Nagy - mastering, Tamás 'Scham' Lugosi - cover art.
The goal of BETWIXT is to create a platform where techno, future beats, hip hop and the most insane experimental electronica can fit happily alongside each other. Where the more experienced djs and producers can perform with people who are appearing in front of an audience for the second time - granted they have a good enough taste and enthusiasm. This is where mainstream meets the underground, routine meets the beginners and our audience thankfully loves this buzzing eclecticism.
