York, Menges is a veteran DJ who continues to evolve his sound. While influenced by many genres, Breaks has always been his
number one love. His sound is a mix of the classic broken beat 808s, heavy bass lines, synth sounds that move today’s crowds,
while always bringing the element of surprise, and knowing when to drop a massive anthem at the right moment. Menges is
also well known as the other half of the dynamic duo THRO-BAK, along with DJ BEN KENOBI
A self-taught guitar player since 12 years old, he fell in love with Dance Music at 14, and then became interested in the
production of a show as a whole and wanted to be a part of it. In 1999 he started volunteering to help out production
companies, learning to DJ, and just wanted to be a part of whatever was going on as much as possible.
His passion for playing and making music stems from “the best feeling in the world” of being able tap into the synchronicity of
translating the vibe that he is feeling inside with the crowd.
That passion is rooted in the influence of his father who taught him the value of putting 150% into everything he does, as well as
being mindful that something good can always come out of something bad.
His musical influences come from a wide variety, but currently are:
DJ Icey, DJ Fixx, Huda Hudia, Dave London, Ondamike, Paul Van Dyke, Carl Cox, DJ 30A, Keith MacKenzie, Prodigy, Chemical
Brothers, Crystal Method, Sky Lab 2000, Magic Mike...as well being mentored by Mike G and Abdulla Bayyari.
