LayLine (Dimitris Petrakis) is raised in Hersonissos, Crete, Mekka of dance culture in Greece, in an environment full of people involved in music. The year 2007, aged 18, LayLine got a set of turntables and he start djing as amateur.As teenager he began to travel all over the Europe for attending house and techno parties. A year after he start djing at local bars and prive parties in hotels.In 2010 LayLine made a bigger step, by singing a contract on Traffic fm, probably the best radio station in Greece and one of the best 50 in Europe (with radio shows of Armin Van Buuren - Ferry Corsten - Paul Oakenfold - John Digweed - Carl Cox - Eddie Halliwell - Adam Beyer and many more... ). Meeting John Sweet(a very talented Greek dj/producer with releases on Lowbit Records, Indigo Records, Pesto Records, Unseen Records, Melodic Records) they built a good relation which help him to develop his skills. 2010 is the year where LayLine start talking music production lessons, and he start making his own sounds, the beginning was on Sasha’s remix competition ‘cut me down’. In 2011 LayLine start watching seminars (MBS collage, SAE technology Athens) and taking live-courses which help him to understood the music production even better. During the courses he participate in 2 more remix competitions (‘Lost in you’ and ‘Northbound’) and get some great feedback from producers. 2012 LayLine got a certificate for taking lessons on ableton live-courses.The past years LayLine had some successful parties in places as Milk&Sugar(Heraklion), Yes(Chania), Dal Mare(Siteia).Having influences from Guy J, Guy Gerber, Luis Junior, Monika Kruse, John Sweet, LayLine have built his own sound and have reach the kind of artistic freedom and ID they always wanted. 2012 is a creative year for LayLine with upcoming events, parties and big productions.
