Once upon a time there was a collective of masked men who wanted be vinyl. They decided that the image that the world would have of them would be that of a record with human features, a masked anti-hero in the service of music. They called themselves Apparel Wax, to dress the sound in wax and to tell its rhythm, without declaring themselves, remaining in the darkness. Thus began the adventure of the ‘vinyl faced hero’ to discover the sound and what immediately attracted him were the diversities, the strangeness of this new world and, therefore, exalted them. He represented the planet he was discovering in his own way, celebrating it through the art of the masked men, his puppet-eers. AW fought and renewed himself without ever submitting to any genre, celebrating inequalities, details and every vinyl born during the journey became the ambassador of a new course, an opportunity to free new inspirations, to wear new clothes and show itself in a different musical form. AW then became the re- flection of a suburban culture, the echo of the Underground and its many forms: the Deep and sensitive one, the Lo-Fi raw attitude and the more hedonistic and Dionysian one of the Club. Quarter after quarter AW analysed and understood the frequencies to define them; grouped them together to identify em. He didn’t care about the speed of the pro-cess but the value of its message, which comes before the messenger. He finally got to the ‘peace of sound’, fulfilling the difficult mission of joining straight and broken beats which, from that moment, became inseparable, without distinc-tions. During the journey Apparel Wax also learned to listen to the silence, himself and the planet: the same condition that was present before it was born, when living was freedom and everything was special and timeless. Then AW understood that it was not possible to continue to exist in plastic thus, perhaps, he would have had to sacrifice again another part of itself...
