For MIJA015 we welcome some new artists to the roster, some very cool German guys from Oberhausen, John Lagora & Ben Anders. In late 2010 the guys sent Mija boss Louis Osbourne their track Nope, which Louis immediately jumped on, and asked if he could sign it for the label. After some persuasion and a night out on the town at Opium Club in Essen the guys were happy to let Louis release their killer EP! John & Ben have both been producing for years but only started working on trax together in 2010. Their sound is an elegant blend of old school beats and synthesizer-heavy techno. They meet exactly in the middle of their influences, and have a sound that is jacking and heavy, which we love here at Mija. Having already released on labels such we SK Supreme, Frequenza and Material John Lagora has been making some HUGE progress this year with upcoming releases signed to Dubfires Sci+Tec, and to Paco Osunas Mindshake, so we are delighted to have him contribute some killer trax, along with Ben Anders to Mija Recordings. The opening track Nope is quite simple dope! Jackin heavy percussion, a sub-bass to kill for, heady big room sounds and some delicious cuts and drops make this a complete bomb. Just wait until the record drops for you that first time in a club. Believe us, it rips up the dancefloor. Weve seen it in full, devastating effect. Next up is Gold Coast, this track is a low-slung head-jam of the highest order that has as much funk as it does jack. A great complementary track to the A-side showing the guys dexterity. On remix duties we have Mija boss Louis Osbourne & Jamie Anderson under their Osbourne & Anderson pseudonym. Jamie and Louis have been working together for a couple of years now and have released on Front Room, and have an new release signed to Jesse Roses storming new label Play It Down titled NoHo due for release in November 2011. This follows up remixes for Jon Gurd and Tube & Berger on Neurotraxx Deluxe, which was a big record in early 2011. Their remix of Nope goes straight for the jugular with a no nonsense floor friendly approach. Its a massive remix to round of a massive package. We feel this release has huge potential and has been huge in road tests. Please drop in your local disco and watch it go off. Then please give it some love & support! Rave on x
