Toby Holguin grew up in Cali, Colombia, surrounded by a great musical culture. At the age of fifteen, Toby started to play in rock bands, and found his calling. Toby recorded his first pop-rock album with his band 27DM, and his first single, "Solo Soñaba" (I was only dreaming) played on local radio stations.After the album hit the airwaves, Toby moved to Miami to study music. At Miami Dade College, Toby studied; piano, congas, and voice. In 1996, he was introduced to the world of electronic music and began his career as a DJ. Playing at nightclubs such as Alelusis, Virtua, and Poliéster, Toby's popularity has grown as he developed his own musical style. When not working as a DJ, Toby excels as a Musical Producer for TV projects, short films, and recently requested for the Universal Pictures movie “El Delfin 2” to compose the score and music for virtual games for Apple. Toby produced the "Going Off Show" for the South Beach electronic music radio station THEWOMB.COM. Toby's unique sound has grown more popular through his shows in other Miami nightclubs such as Pawn Shop, Lime Bar, Privilege Club, and Opium.Toby is now the owner of Basswalk Records, a label under which he has released innumerable tracks that have gained strong international status. Using numerous monikers Dopey Cap, Bong Hitz, Big Bud, New Born Child, Ashbury and Haight, Aereoplano, Raya & Manku, and Toby Holguin, he has reinvented himself for his ongoing music cycles. Toby's tracks have been hammered by big guns like: Danny Tenaglia, Armin Van Buuren, Sasha & John Digweed, and Deep Dish, also gaining chart action in the US and overseas. Toby's acknowledges his signature tracks as: "Rambla" (Lemon8 Remix), "Wicked Fortress" (Chus & Ceballos Remix), "Another Day" (Erick E. Remix), "Dagoba" (Remy Unger Remix), "Forever Numb" (Stefano Noferini Remix), "Our Mind is an illusion" (Olivier Berger Remix), “Je Suis Perdu” (Habersham Remix), and "3D- Lovers" (Austin Leeds Remix), regardless of the all the success marketwise.Toby also remixed "Boca Arriba", originally produced by Dj Dero and Carlinhos Brown (Candyall Beat-Oid Mortales-BMG artists released through Vale Music- Spain), and was released on a maxi-cd and an LP album named "Electronic Artesanal" in Spain/Portugal that peaked to #1 in the month of August 2004 and through the summer (cadena100.es-los40.com). Toby has also recently remixed "A Media Vida", an Estefano Salgado track for his upcoming solo album Codigo Personal: A Media Vida and “Camisa Negra from Juanes latest album "Mi Sangre" (Universal Latino). In his last pass through Spain, Toby played in Xavi Escolano's "House Sessions" in Flaix FM Barcelona; Bubbles in Ibiza and is now summer resident of the Bora Bora Jet Ibiza Beach Club and the Es Paradis World Tour alongside partner Dj Moffous. He is now touring the world with the Bora Bora Jet Ibiza brand where he started the first leg of the tour in his own club in Bogota "Cerati Club" for the opening party. He just stopped in "Spazio Nero/Segafredo Miami" for WMC 2012 where he played to a full house then continuing to South Africa, Switzerland, Croatia, South Korea, Bahrain, Slovenia, Italy, Holland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina, UK, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and a 25 tour dates in Mexico coming up t his year and 2013 under t he supervision of Level Management. This summer he will also mix cd 2 of the "Bora Bora Jet Ibiza On Tour" compilation for the legendary CR2 Records - UK, with Alex Miles and Dj Moffous. His latest work "Forever Numb" and "Our Mind is an Illusion" was remixed by names like Stefano Noferini, Pole Folder, and Olivier Berger.In the past, through the moniker "Ashbury and Haight" (Toby Holguin and Olivier Berger) he released in Sept ember 12, 2005 an album t hrough Basswalk/Universal Latino. He also presented, mixed, and compiled as a DJ; "Electrohousepunk01" released August 22, 2005 through Basswalk/Universal. Toby in 2007 released "Ashbury and Haight - Remixed" having a distribution through Shock Magazine in Colombia for 15,000 copies. That same year he released a solo album called "T oby Holguin - Guerrero con Boca de Jaguar" distributed also by Shock for the amount of 30,000 copies. He released "Aereoplano - Cero Gravedad" (Toby Holguin and Oscar Moncada) in Colombia with Millennium distribution.In addition, he released "Toby Holguin - Chamanes de Experiencia" through Level Management in Mexico and Millennium distribution in Colombia. "Chamanes de Experiencia" has addit ional product ion and remixes by MaxxiMusic's maestro Marcello Azevedo and underground phenomenon Habersham. T oby Holguin "Chamanes Remixed" and Raya & Manku "Allisone" were released through House Planet UK, but now Toby has changed t o working again wit h t he US wit h Baseware and is releasing in April 2012 his new material. Toby continues to write, produce and remix, and his work continues to gain the attention and accolades it deserves. As his reputation grows, he continues to rely on the love and support of God and his family, and expresses his gratitude and thanks for their support all along the way.
