Monkey Boots

Straddling the divide between nu disco and house, Monkey Boots’ signature sound is built around rock-solid grooves and slow-burn arrangements that build in intensity. One of the many aliases of veteran producers Chris Reed and Paul Radley, Monkey Boots have been championed by key DJs, including Greg Wilson, who remixed their breakthrough single Whitworth Strut. Chris and Paul's earliest adventures in clubland were in their native northern England, as the house music revolution took hold in the late 1980s. But they didn't meet until moving to New Zealand at the dawn of the 21st century, kickstarting a 20-year journey as producers, DJs, radio hosts and promoters. As Reed & Radley (deep house) they made multiple contributions to NZ’s pioneering Reliable Recordings and released a signature EP on Nottingham’s enduringly influential
