Whilst studying helearnt the music industry ropes moonlighting in thepromotions department of heavy-hitting dance label, SeriousRecords.Release T he Music: T hrough both his Ad Brown and MaxiValvona releases, he quickly made a name for himself asthe go-to man for enriched prog-themed atmospherics.T hink the melodies of Above & Beyond crossbred with thebacking tracks of Digweed and you’re nine tenths of the waythere.Originally signed to Black Hole Recordings, he debuted inlate 2008 with the double- header release ‘Smoke’ and ‘IJust Do’. Just a few months later recognition came fast tohis door with the ‘09 releases ‘Hope’ and ‘ChasingRainbows’. T he latter scoring a 5/5 Money Shot review in DJMag, with the publication stating that the track “positivelybulged with dark synthery, thudding drums and imaginativepercussion” and added that it was one with “a murderouslygood chiming top line”. A month after its release the trackwas compiled onto the 2009 Trance Energy album and Adhimself was named by the music-critics.com website as “aproducer to watch”. Over the course of the 2010 Browndrew many plaudits for his much-spun bootleg rewiring ofHolden & T hompson’s prog house classic ‘Nothing’. It wasmusic again championed by a remarkably broad spectrum ofDJs. In May of that year he also delivered the ‘Velvet EP’, hisdebut release under his new pseudonym, Maxi Valvona (forSolarstone’s Insatiable Records).
