AxeLara makes a welcome return to Just Movement with a brand new EP entitled 'Time Of Memory'. Hailing from Mar Del Plata, the Argentinean artist first appeared on the Dutch imprint in August of this year with a contribution to the label's 'Summer' VA Vol 3. Having also found a home on Baroque Records, BC2 and Stellar Fountain, AxeLara now returns to Just Movement with a brand new EP.
Beginning with the title cut we see the Argentine exploring astral storyboards over a tight, punchy groove. A pulsating low end in combination with timely effects and heavenly vocal pads creates a surreal environment. Emotive and heady in equal measure, the main break proves to be quite magical, serene and enlightening across it's cinematic space, before a smooth roll transitions the piece into a cosmic finale. The second selection 'Cosmic Comet' goes deeper and groovier for a luminous mid set affair. Smooth chord changes add mightily to its corky low end, while an evolving vocal narrative streaks across the percussive framework. Coming to full fruition during the main break, the vocal paves the way to spiritual enlightenment before getting washed away in favour of the romping groove.
The EP's third selection 'Waiting For You' follows suit with a deep sultry groove, perfectly accented with indistinct vocals and strummy motifs. Smooth and meditative, it's a piece built on restraint and delicate detail, from dusty effects to luminous overlays. The release concludes with 'Relax' which carries the ethos of the EP wonderfully. With a focus on charming themes, organic drums and warm laid back grooves, it's a melodious lead which proves to be most compelling, particularly during a well executed break and reflective finale. It rounds out four stunning creations from AxeLara which set the stage for what promises to be an incredible year for the Argentinean artist.
