Andrew Philippov is one of the top crossover artists in the heavily populated progressive house underground. The Russian producers distinct blend of melodic breaks and progressive sensibilities is not only meticulously produced but also perfect for the dance floor. The 21st release on Suffused Music sees Andrew returning to the label for his second appearance and first single. The Russian producer delivered an outstanding remix of Jonatan Ramonda's 'It's So Late' towards the end of November and his brand new single entitled 'No Way To Escape' gets 2014 off to a great start. Andrew seems to opt for the breaks route more often than not but here on 'No Way To Escape' he's crafted a deep progressive beauty. The Russian producers signature punchy beats provide some impact early on as the meandering atmospheres slowly grow around the framework. The moody break gradually develops as a sombre melodic theme reignites the ominous atmospheric quality of the piece. As the trippy soundscapes become more and more mesmerizing the tough beats drop back only to be followed by the choppy energetic drums which sets the track in motion for a great finish. A top drawer production from Andrew and with a solid range of progressive, breaks and deeper house remixes from Jeremy Rowlett, No Sonic Limits, Omauha and Suggy this release has something to please everyone.
