Chillin Music offers a musical mélange with householder Alvaro Ernestos Just in Time. Accompanying Alvaros original mix are the combined elements contributed by Gavin Herlihy, Ardalan and R-Squared.
With a stellar 2010, Perus Alvaro Ernesto comes through with yet another morsel of tracky bliss. One of the years busiest producers with releases on Deux Minds, Proton Limited, Dark Pleasure, Miniatura, Drag and Muenchen to name a few; Alvaro takes us on a journey with Just in Time. True to his form, Alvaro builds the mood with a smooth progression of ethereal synth and organ stabs weaved through a foundation of punchy percussion. Wait for it wait for it ahhh yes!
Gavin Herlihys bio expresses a list of the Whos Who of Underground Dance Music with releases on such acclaimed labels as Cadenza, Cocoon, Leftroom, Buzzin Fly and Get Physical. Herlihy cites his early music influence as Fugazi, Sonic Youth and Rage Against the Machine and found electronic music at the young age of 13 on a trip to London. His seminal release Machine Ate My Homework on moodmusic in 2006 received high regards and led to his first commissioned remix Burn My Shadow for UNKLE. Since, Gavin has proven himself on the global circuit as an acclaimed remixer, producer and DJ. Gavins rework of Just in Time arrives before it even gets warmed up. A winding loop of vocal snips, deep kicks and cowbell licks prep the groove as it morphs into a structured yet eerily, mystifying story. Herlihys clever adaptation is a glimpse into the future where one wonders what have I been missing out on. Gavin states it best when discussing his early days of electronic music, It sounded like the future being beamed down the radio waves, he says. "and I've been chasing it ever since." A wizard is never late; he is always precisely on time (LOTR).
Just 21 years of age, San Jose, Californias Ardalan has quickly strapped on the scuba gear and dove deep into the depths of electronic music. After sending Justin Martin of Dirtybird fame a demo, Ardalan found himself teaming with Justin to produce a #1 dance floor monster, Mr. Spock on dirtybird. Talk about bursting on the scene Just in Time! Pete Tong, Chris Lake, Jesse Rose and Claude VonStroke all charted it #1 not too shabby! Now, Ardalan joins the Chillin family and drops some serious boom in the room. A stripped-down, no nonsense dub that lifts off into a straight-up beat down is what Ardalan drops on us. This bird is ready for take off! Ready! Set! GO!
Chillin headmaster, Rob Slac , and the posterchild of San Francisco latenight, Rob Grega aka Still Rob G, team up as R-Squared for their interpretation of Just in Time. As OM Records full-time A&R/Project Manager and in-house guru of all OM compilations during his tenure, Rob Grega has a niche for finding and expressing talent. Since Gregas departure from OM, his primary focus has been on studio work. As R-Squared, Slac & Grega march in like the Sparta in 300. Much like a mosaic, their rework is a blend of elements that create a unified masterpiece. Consistently evolving from a warbling tribal theme into a warriors march, it climaxes with a fury of tribal percussion and UFO sightings. R-Squared is Space Odyssey: 2010 meets King Tut
Keep an eye on the future - Tom Flynn, Pezzner and M.in have been spotted! Chillin in the bag to infinity and beyond!
