DeepWit Recordings head honcho Alvaro Hylander headlines the Danish label's third release - 'Cream Soda' has two original tracks of warm, organic deep house, a remix of the title track by the legendary Blakkat, whose releases on Shaboom Records amongst others helped shape the deep house scene in the UK, and a second equally impressive remix of %u2018Stop' by The Messenger. The remix pair add bumping house beats, warm chords, Rhodes stabs and some eerie tech elements to the package.
Alvaro Hylander was born in the south of Spain but now resides in Denmark. He started DJ'ing from an early age, recording early releases under the name Dush. After 17 years of being absorbed in the enjoyment and creation of music he has developed a strong personal style he labels as "sexy, groovy and organic deep house". To date he has featured on Acryl Music, TEAM Records, iRecords, Alma Soul Music, City Life and more as a producer and remixer.
Blakkat needs little introduction. The alias of Shaboom Records' owner Mark Bell, Blakkat is responsible for some truly legendary house tunes. After taking a back seat in 2002 his recent return to the limelight has seen both Blakkat and Shaboom return to DJ crates around the word with fans hungry for more of the quality that has also graced the Freerange, Dustraxx, Ovum and Defected imprints over the years.
The Messenger aka Maria S. Jones and Joel Heim first came to light back in 1994 on Night Drive Music with their ever developing sound of deep-house-meets-minimal-house and more recently club focused grooves. With over 70 releases on labels such as Plastic City, iRecords, Soulstar, Disclosure Project, Deep Class, Plaster, 2600 Records and Neurotron Music, they have also remixed Sebastian Davidson, Daniel Kyo and Ivan Enot to name just a few.
