Keeping up their high rate of release and equally high quality standards, !Organism hit release number 44 with a new EP featuring two tracks from The YellowHeads and a great remix from Tomy DeClerque.
The YellowHeads is a coming together of two musical talents with a style that ranges from tough and raw to more melodic and hypnotic, and so far they have released on labels like Driving forces, Deeperfect and !Organism.
Opening the searing EP is Conspiracy, a bulky bit of techno with an itchy percussive tick racing along on top of warm, bubbling drums. Rasping bassline textures, celestial sounding synths and sweeps of white noise tension all make you feel like you are rushing without even being on the dancefloor.
Tomy DeClerque is a member of the new generation of Slovenian deejays in the mould of pioneers like Umek. His remix of Conspiracy is a more restless affair with panning, skating percussion racing along on top of rubbery kick drum blips. Rolling, loopy bass adds depth and more raw drum fills help engage your mind as well as body as the thing pounds on through a darkened midnight warehouse.
Finally, Black Code is a more metallic and hollow cut with industrial sounding samples and racing drums. This one depicts some sort of desolate wasteland and places you right at the centre of it as the action plays out around you in arresting fashion.
The driving techno of The YellowHeads and the always excellent Organism! once again make a fine pairing here.
