Back to the here and now and the genre rulebook has once again been tossed out of the window for studio album 5 and Bully has landed. The title track and first single touches down with relentless attitude. Cello riffs are twisted and distorted to form relentless grooves while New York rapper SHIRT spits over the top with aplomb and the slow groove finally gives way to fearsome old skool Jungle breaks.. If Sabotage had been written by the Beasties with a hangover or Jay Z had a few more problems..
The remixes are also direct and to the point! Japanese Breaks supremo Eshericks hits the ground running with a fearsome arpeggiated drop which has been tried and tested by Hyper and label bosses Beatman & Ludmilla before breaking down to a melodic build with re-pitching vocals before diving back into the groove.
Hungarian Drum n Bass star in the making Kelle (fresh from releases on Ram Records, Program and Disturbed) weighs in with an uncompromising Glitch-Hop reworking (which is simply heavier then heaven) and perfectly catches the attitude and swagger of the original.
This release is a truly global affair and one which affirms once again the diversity and quality of the Hyper production machine. #unpigeonholeable
