The brand new label SUBHIVE enters the playing field armed with their game changing compilation album "SUBHIVE: Origin". The local bass-music collective, based in Aalborg, Denmark, brings along both new and well established players in the game, all proving their worth with unique styles and new twists on well known genres.
Known amongst their fanbase for their local underground music events, SUBHIVE takes pride in inviting their residents and guests to partake in shaping the sound and direction for this and future album releases.
SUBHIVE: Origin opens up with the frisson inducing track "In Your Eyes" from MELURAN. Hypnotic chords and ticking clocks create the foundation for a smooth vocal-centered future bass gem that makes your mind drift of in the distance.
Redemptive keeps the chilled vibe with "Aerospace", a track featuring glistering guitar licks and the most addicting liquid bassline you will ever hear! All this spiced up with crisp DnB drums and an atmosphere only Redemptive can produce.
Following the drum and bass theme, Kasger's track "Blue Marble" swoops in. The track is introduced with deep plucks that slowly transforms into a massive soundscape, only to dip down low into a minimalistic take on synth-based DnB.
With "Wushu", Vidya Vidya leads us on for a journey that completely flips the album upside down. Starting out with cinematic strings and oriental vibes, "Wushu" quickly becomes an exotic blend of future bass and jersey club, which Vidya Vidya has proven to master time and time again.
Taking the vibe a tad darker, LazyKid's track "Bad Bitch" is going all in right from the start. Massive brass hits, fat 808's and piercing synth stabs sets the tone for this club banger of a tune!
Cuuts' "Breakdown" literally starts out with breakbeat-like drums, quickly building up to a mind melting dubstep drop. Unique and heavy bass sounds creates a high-energy headbanger that ends the album with style!
Embracing different genres of bass-music, the compilation has a wide appeal to fans of most electronic music genres, and might even help broaden the horizon for some listeners. With each artist delivering top tier productions, SUBHIVE's journey as a label is starting out on a strong, stable and expanding foundation!
