Dominican-born, Santo Domingo based, producer Cohoba makes his long-awaited full debut on Fine Grains with the 'Exodo EP'. Five original productions, remixes from grime experimentalist T_A_M and fellow RBMA-alumni Daisuke Tanabe, and a guest appearance from MC/artist They Call Me Raptor. Cohoba, an old Taino Indian transliteration for a ceremony in which the ground seeds of the cojobana tree were inhaled, leads listeners on an intensive path through his production repertoire of modern hip hop, more pensive electronica and club music. Despite the cold harshness of the synth stabs and drums, there is an authentic warmth omni-present throughout the tracks. Cohoba has paved a way for himself in the world of audio, from being a label head on the premiere Dominican electronic music label Stereoptico, to being selected as one of the few to attend the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy 2010 in London and touring Latin America performing live electronic music with his hip hop group Whitest Taino Alive and in an award winning theatrical production.
