Overwintering in the silt of the production pond, as spring beckons, BufoBufo swims towards the light with a brace of creations dredged up from the depths of his batrachian mind.
Following his debut 12" EP, which launched the label Ritual Poison and saw plays from Octo Octa, Tone Dropout's Sween and Bawrut, 'Toadstone' represents the latest distillations of his sound.
'Amanita' is a psychedelic swung out 4/4 garage monster haunted by the ghosts of mid '90s Armand Van Helden or The Stickmen. 'Misty Eyez' finds inspiration closer to home, drawing on UK influences, ghostly vocal samples and spacious atmospheres. 'Discocookie' is a Balearic disco piece with blissful pads and a lethal lead line, and 'Unitone Hyphae' tips a hat to the dub techno of Basic Channel, adding depth charge sub and acid influences to the recipe.
