The fifth release on AstraVox Music arrives courtesy of one of the founders, with Andrew Emil's second EP for the label as Change Request.
Building upon the sound design experiments of AVX001, Andrew explores longer forms of thematic development with these two tracks on the Kinetic Propulsion EP.
"Conscious Conclusion" tells a vivid tail of growing confusion through sparing spatial gestures. Ornamented with a reoccurring piano motif, Andrew keeps the listener harmonically grounded while being thrust through the contemplative arpeggiated synth and string arrangements.
A more fragmented journey of space exploration, "The Future Is Now", takes a cue right out of Thomas Newman's handbook. Materializing a world of New Age-eque sound design, this introspective exploration paints a picture of reflection of a familiar uncomfortable memory. This ominous sensation eventually leads to moment of comforting release when the organ and bass arrive, imbuing a sense of security.
