ThuyVu is a young, up-and-coming underground house music artist. As a producer, she revels in the cutting edge tech-house and deep-house sounds and seeks creativity in all that she touches. From bass-heavy rhythms to mysterious vocal samples embedded in catchy but still very eclectic loops, ThuyVu takes the familiar and makes it unfamiliar enough to garner your intrigue. As a DJ, she finds beautiful gems of techno and house blends to soothe the house heads and yet slay the criticisms of unyielding techno purists. Her background as a classical pianist from the age of 6 was a complimentary force to her ability to play anything by ear on the ivories and ebony scales - whilst reading musical notation came naturally as part of her training, she has a knack of picking up any dance track or popular melody and converting it for the piano. As a vocalist, she composes lyrics and samples in production. As a DJ and with her passion for electronica, she started in her early days of college in 1999 as one of the first female DJs in Southern California. Bonded to turntablism and an impressive vinyl collection, ThuyVu harnessed her skills and became known for seamless mixing and an ear for eloquent track selection. In 2007, ThuyVu moved back to the San Francsico area, met Bardia F and inspired him to join her in the quest for a new musical venture. She co-founded Blue Orb Records with him and soon, their record label became a household name with chart-topping tracks on Beatport. With global talent, Blue Orb artists range from Romania to Japan to Italy to Spain, frequently gracing Top 100 spots. Blue Orb releases have been charted by Pete Tong, Stacey Pullen, Jamie Jones, Philip Arruda and ThuyVu's latest release collaborated with Bardia F, "Next Stop, Detroit" earned major support from Paco Osuna.ThuyVu spends her creative time producing new sounds, procuring new tracks and global talent, leading the strategy behind the label, and advocating the underground scene. On the stage and in the studio, she's one to watch and support.
